Ghettoblaster premieres Psycho Social Sexual lyric video
A gigantic bottomless thanks to Timothy Anderl and Ghettoblaster for celebrating with us on our album release day by premiering the lyric video to the title track, Psycho Social Sexual!
Video Premiere: After-Death Plan, “Psycho Social Sexual”
Columbus, Ohio’s After-Death Plan is releasing Psycho Social Sexual, the follow up to the duo’s 2017 concept album Literature. Ghettoblaster is pleased to share their lyric video for the title track today (below). After-Death Plan is the Columbus duo of Lesley Ann Fogle and Constantine Hondroulis. Their songs do not belong in one genre, but share a cinematic quality with early 4AD artists, PJ Harvey, and Laurie Anderson.
The song kicks off the album with a stomp and a clap as Fogle breathes stream-of-consciousness feminist fire over Hondroulis’ slinky bass rhythms. Milan Karcic (Salt Horse, Everything) hangs back for a while before clearing the stage for a balkan-inspired guitar solo. The song is danceable, a catchy pop-punk word nerd commentary about how the layered meanings of words relate to the mind, to society, and to the body.
“We shot this over a weekend in our studio,” explained Hondroulis. “There’s a lot to process so it made sense to make this one a lyric video.”
“Yeah,” Fogle adds, “There’s a quantum perception. Words, with their roots and stems, multiple meanings, and archaic meanings, also have psychosocial and psychosexual resonance. Showing the lyrics makes/adds sense.”
The full length self-released album will be available for sale January 15, 2019 (today) on all digital platforms and on CD for order through CD Baby or locally at Lost Weekend Records.
